Each year for the past 10 years, EdTech Digest has recognized the most innovative contributions made in the field of education technology. Underwriters Laboratories is excited to share that its online learning platform, Xplorlabs, has been selected as a finalist in the STEM Solution category. This selection acknowledges our outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology, helping to enrich learners and learning environments all over the world.

Xplorlabs engages the next generation of problem solvers through science and engineering. Students solve real-world safety science problems and set the safety standards that will change tomorrow. Every research-based, teacher-tested UL Xplorlabs element aligns with key Next Generation Science Standards. The EdTech Awards recognizes programs for outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology to enrich the lives of learners everywhere. Featuring Edtech’s best and brightest, the annual program shines a spotlight on cool tools, inspiring leaders and innovative trendsetters across the K-12, Higher Education, and Skills and Workforce sectors.

The 2020 award finalists and winners were narrowed from a much larger field and judged based on the following criteria, including: pedagogical workability, efficacy and results, support, clarity, value and potential.

This year has marked a new reality for communities, educators and families. Innovation in education during this time has included creative virtual resources and interactive online platforms, which have become increasingly important for educators and learners who need new tools to succeed.
